Dubai premium parking fees vs regular rates in 2026
Compare Dubai premium parking fees with regular rates, including VAT. Check peak hours, off-peak zone prices and how to identify your bay.

Dubai premium parking fees are higher than regular parking fees during peak periods, but both classifications use the underlying zone’s off-peak tariff. To budget correctly, check the bay’s full zone code, the time and whether the displayed price includes VAT. Special facilities and event parking can follow different tariffs.
Key facts
- As of March 2025, Parkin’s announced peak base tariffs were AED 6 per hour for premium parking and AED 4 for standard parking, before VAT: Parkin variable-tariff announcement.
- As of May 2026, Parkin confirmed 5% VAT would apply from 1 June 2026 without changing the underlying tariffs: Parkin VAT disclosure.
- As of May 2026, ordinary peak periods are 8:00–10:00 a.m. and 4:00–8:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday: Dubai’s peak-hours resolution.
What are Dubai premium parking fees compared with regular rates?
Premium parking costs more during peak periods. However, regular parking—called standard parking in the tariff schedule—does not have one universal hourly price outside those periods.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) sets Dubai’s public-parking rules and tariffs, while Parkin Company PJSC operates much of the public-parking portfolio. Premium and standard classifications sit alongside the underlying zone letter rather than replacing it.
The following Dubai parking fees including VAT use the base tariffs published as of March 2025 in Parkin’s tariff schedule, with 5% VAT applied from 1 June 2026 as confirmed in its May 2026 VAT disclosure.
| Underlying zone | Standard peak, per hour | Premium peak, per hour | Standard or premium off-peak, per hour |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | AED 4.20 | AED 6.30 | AED 4.20 |
| B | AED 4.20 | AED 6.30 | AED 3.15 |
| C | AED 4.20 | AED 6.30 | AED 2.10 |
| D | AED 4.20 | AED 6.30 | AED 2.10 |
Therefore, the zone letter matters even when the premium label does not change the off-peak price. A standard bay can also become cheaper outside peak periods, depending on its zone.
Do not treat the hourly comparison as a universal daily cap. Daily products, special facilities and designated event spaces require their own tariff check.
What are Dubai’s peak parking hours?
Dubai’s ordinary peak schedule has a morning period and a longer late-afternoon period. Meanwhile, paid off-peak periods fall between them and later in the evening.
As of May 2026, the following Monday-to-Saturday periods appear in Administrative Resolution No. 363 of 2026, published by the Supreme Legislation Committee in the Emirate of Dubai.
| Period | Ordinary timing | Tariff to check |
|---|---|---|
| Morning peak | 8:00–10:00 a.m. | Premium or standard peak tariff |
| Daytime off-peak | 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. | Underlying zone’s off-peak tariff |
| Afternoon and evening peak | 4:00–8:00 p.m. | Premium or standard peak tariff |
| Evening off-peak | 8:00–10:00 p.m. | Underlying zone’s off-peak tariff |
These Dubai parking peak and off-peak rates need checking against your intended arrival and departure. If your stay crosses a tariff boundary, do not assume the starting hourly rate applies throughout.
Rules change. The newer resolution defines the current weekday schedule, while older announcements describe exclusions differently. Ramadan also has adjusted arrangements, so use the applicable seasonal announcement rather than the ordinary schedule.
How can I tell if a Dubai parking space is premium?
Read the posted tariff and full zone code beside the space. Do not decide that a bay is premium simply because you recognise the neighbourhood.
Premium codes commonly add P to the underlying zone letter. However, the full payment code matters, not just its final letters. The sign next to the bay is the final word.
- Read the full zone code on the nearest applicable parking sign.
- Identify whether the posted tariff is premium or standard.
- Check whether your stay falls in a peak, off-peak, holiday or event period.
- Calculate the parking charge using the applicable tariff and VAT treatment.
- Pay through an official payment channel.
- Keep the confirmation message or receipt.
For a wider explanation of zone codes and payment options, use the Dubai parking guide. However, an area-wide description should never replace the code at your actual space.
Does Dubai parking VAT apply to premium and standard rates?
Yes. VAT applies to both premium and standard public-parking tariffs covered by Parkin’s disclosure, rather than only to the premium surcharge.
As of May 2026, Parkin confirmed 5% VAT from 1 June 2026; consequently, two entirely peak-priced hours cost AED 12.60 in a premium bay or AED 8.40 in a standard bay using the unchanged underlying peak tariffs.
When comparing Dubai standard parking fees with older articles, check whether their amounts exclude VAT. Otherwise, a correct older base tariff can look like the current total payable.
Also distinguish the parking tariff from any separate payment-channel charge. The comparison here covers parking and VAT, not a promise about the final cost of every payment method.
Is Dubai public parking free on Sundays and public holidays?
Do not assume that every Dubai parking facility is free on Sundays or public holidays. Check the applicable holiday notice and the facility’s own charging arrangements.
Ordinary public bays, multi-storey facilities and designated spaces do not necessarily share the same exemptions. Likewise, a privately operated car park can have its own tariff.
Designated grand-event parking around Dubai World Trade Centre is another exception to the ordinary comparison. Its event tariff applies to specified spaces during applicable events, not automatically to every nearby street.
Therefore, check both the location and the occasion before using a general hourly estimate. A special-event designation can matter more than the usual premium or standard classification.
Where can UAE Parking help you check the bay?
UAE Parking’s Dubai parking page lists zone rates and operating hours. It gives you a place to review those details while planning your stop.
UAE Parking is an independent website and a free app for iPhone and Android. It is not affiliated with RTA or Parkin, and it does not take or process parking payments.
Frequently asked questions
Does Dubai premium parking cost more all day?
No. Premium and standard bays use the corresponding underlying zone’s off-peak tariff. The premium classification increases the ordinary peak tariff, so check both the zone and the time.
What do AP, BP, CP and DP mean on Dubai parking signs?
These codes indicate premium classifications associated with the underlying A, B, C and D zones. Use the complete posted zone code when paying, rather than entering only the letter combination.
Is there one regular parking rate across Dubai?
No. Standard bays share the ordinary peak tariff in the comparison, but their off-peak prices depend on the underlying zone. Special facilities and event spaces can follow different tariffs.
Can I use the ordinary tariff table for an event space?
Not automatically. Designated event spaces can have a separate tariff during applicable events, so check the posted event conditions before paying.
